Reaching the Senior Associate level is not only an important milestone in their individual careers, but also a reflection of our long-term strategic objective of developing talent from within.
As they move up to Level 4 of our career development model, our new Senior Associates will be taking on more responsibility on client projects and playing an increasingly strategic role in shaping the work within their teams. This step reflects their continuous professional development, their commitment and their role as a trusted point of contact in the day-to-day running of the firm.
Promotions are decided by the partners at each location together with the relevant line managers on the basis of clearly defined professional and personal criteria such as work quality, efficiency, initiative and teamwork.

Our multi-level system focuses on each individual lawyer’s stage of development and gives our Associates a wide range of options early in their careers, tailored to their personal goals and strengths. Once promoted to Senior Associate, preparation for a more senior role either as Counsel or as Local Partner begins. At GSK Stockmann, we see both paths as equally valuable – regardless of whether an individual is interested in taking on management responsibility or not.
