GSK Stockmann appoints new Equity Partners, Local Partners and Counsel from within its own ranks for 2026

As of 1 January 2026, GSK Stockmann is promoting four of its lawyers to Equity Partner, three to Local Partner and eight to Counsel.

The latest Equity Partner appointments strengthen GSK Stockmann’s traditional core areas of real estate and corporate law, as well as its banking and finance division. New partners Rebecca Comtesse (Frankfurt) and Corinna Schumacher (Luxembourg) bring valuable expertise in finance/restructuring and funds, particularly in international contexts. York-Alexander von Massenbach, head of the firm’s London office, has also been appointed as an Equity Partner, signalling the firm’s continued commitment to growing its international business. Real estate expert Felix Bergfort has played a key role in driving the firm’s business development with his knowledge of the latest legal tech solutions.

The appointment of Philipp Dawirs as Local Partner provides a further boost to GSK Stockmann’s Real Estate team. Dominik Stolz, a member of the Banking & Finance team, supports the firm’s sustainability-related compliance practice with his expertise in ESG. The promotion of Silvia Christopher, a specialist in corporate and real estate law and the associated commercial and M&A issues, to Local Partner is not only a valuable addition to the GSK Stockmann’s Corporate division, but will also support the further development of the firm’s notarial offices.

In order to keep pace with the increasing complexity of the law and the growing expectations of clients seeking experienced advisers, GSK Stockmann is expanding its team of experienced legal experts with eight new Counsel. The promotions within the public law team in particular reflect the growing interest in infrastructure projects.

New Counsel Maximiliane Bartsch (real estate transactions and asset management, in particular residential), Lisa Gebhard (investment funds, ESG and real estate), Alisa Mößinger (commercial tenancy law, all asset classes) and Jasmin Lena Seiberlich (real estate transactions and commercial tenancy law) will continue to support GSK Stockmann’s Real Estate team. Public law specialists Timo Aust (public law, construction law, pollution control and environmental law), Mareike Hebrock (public construction, environmental and nature conservation law) and Andrea Kunstmann (private construction contract law and architectural and engineering law) are also being promoted. The firm’s growing Corporate division will also see the addition of new Counsel Katharina Becker (dispute resolution and international arbitration).

Equity Partners:
Felix Bergfort has extensive experience advising German and international investors on real estate transactions involving existing properties and developments, as well as in the area of commercial tenancy law. In addition, he provides ongoing asset management advice to clients, with a particular focus on the drafting and negotiation of property-related contracts. He is also a specialist in legal tech solutions, such as contract automation and AI-powered due diligence. Felix has been recognised on multiple occasions for his expertise in real estate law by Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers (Germany’s Best Lawyers 2025; Lawyer of the Future 2022-2023). He joined GSK Stockmann in 2019, having previously worked at a major international law firm. He studied law at the University of Konstanz and was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2016.

Rebecca Comtesse specialises in advising on matters where aspects of finance, real estate law, investment and capital markets law converge, and guiding her clients through national and international financing transactions. After completing her legal studies at the University of Heidelberg, she was admitted to the bar and joined GSK Stockmann in 2016. She is frequently recognised for her expertise in leading legal directories, including Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers (Restructuring and Insolvency; Banking and Finance), Legal 500 (Real Estate Finance) and Chambers (Real Estate: Finance). In 2025, Rebecca was also presented with the Rising Star Award by Chambers, an interdisciplinary prize that recognises outstanding young legal professionals.

Corinna Schumacher, LL.M., studied law at the University of Trier in Germany and holds an LL.M. in International Commercial and Business Law from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. After being admitted to the bar in Luxembourg and Germany in 2013, she worked at two leading Luxembourg law firms before joining GSK Stockmann’s Luxembourg office in 2020. She advises private and institutional investors on the structuring and launch of Luxembourg investment funds and has extensive experience working with regulated and unregulated products across all asset classes, including hedge funds, debt funds, private equity and real estate funds, and retail products. Many of her clients are regulated companies, including capital management companies, banks and insurance companies, who turn to her for advice on a wide range of regulatory issues.

York-Alexander von Massenbach is the head of GSK Stockmann’s London office. As the firm’s international ambassador in London, he coordinates relationships with British, American and other international law firms. He advises private equity investors on acquiring German companies and assists strategic investors with market entry, particularly in large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. He previously led the London office of a major independent German commercial law firm. He studied law at the University of Göttingen and was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2013. York is also the chairman and a board member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) for the London region.

Local Partners:

Silvia Christopher, LL.M., specialises in corporate and real estate law, often in relation to commercial and M&A issues. She completed her legal education, including an LL.M. in European Commercial Law, at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and her traineeship included a placement in the legal department at Deutsche Bahn. Prior to her admission to the bar in 2017, she worked as a research assistant at GSK Stockmann supporting the firm’s corporate and real estate teams as well as the notary’s office. Since 2017, she has worked as a lawyer at GSK Stockmann, providing particular support to the notary’s office.

Dr Philipp Dawirs, LL.M., is a real estate specialist with particular expertise in the hospitality sector. He regularly advises clients on real estate transactions and lease agreements – in particular hotel operator agreements – as well as development projects. He first joined GSK Stockmann after his admission to the bar in 2015, leaving briefly in 2019 before returning in 2020. Alongside his work at the firm, he delivers lectures at the Akademie der Immobilienwirtschaft (ADI). Philipp studied law in Münster, Bielefeld and Rome and holds an LL.M. in Real Estate Law from the University of Münster.

Dr Dominik Stolz specialises in providing regulatory advice to banks, financial and payment service providers and capital management companies. He is particularly experienced in capital markets issues and sustainable finance, with a focus on ESG, MIFID II and DCM. He was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2018 and joined GSK Stockmann in 2022. He has since spent time working at the GSK Stockmann’s Luxembourg office and continues to collaborate closely with the Luxembourg team. Dominik received his doctorate from the University of Augsburg in Germany and also studied overseas at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. He is also a regular speaker, lecturer and author at various events and formats.

Counsel:
Timo Aust joined GSK Stockmann in 2022. After studying law at the University of Passau, he was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2016 and received further certification as a specialist in administrative law in 2023. Prior to joining GSK Stockmann, he spent five years working at a real estate law firm in Munich and one year in the public procurement practice of a major German commercial law firm. He also spent many years working as a research assistant in various areas of law. Timo advises on public law matters, in particular construction law (including planning law and building regulations), pollution control and environmental regulations, and also represents clients in court.

Maximiliane Bartsch works at GSK Stockmann’s Munich office, where she advises German and international clients on all aspects of their real estate transactions and offers support with real estate asset management and litigation. She specialises in providing legal advice on complex, high-volume leases, especially in the hospitality, office and retail sectors. She also provides comprehensive advice on residential property law, particularly with regard to contractual structuring options and procedural issues. Maximiliane has worked as a lawyer at GSK Stockmann since being admitted to the bar in Germany in 2020. She studied law at the University of Passau and the University of Dundee in Scotland and completed her legal traineeship at the Munich Higher Regional Court, including placements at a major international law firm in Munich and Vancouver, Canada.

Katharina Becker, LL.M., joined GSK Stockmann in 2019 following her admission to the bar. She specialises in dispute resolution, advising clients from a wide range of industries on complex national and international litigation and arbitration proceedings as well as on alternative dispute resolution methods. Her primary focus is on commercial and corporate law, particularly in relation to the energy sector. Katharina studied law at the University of Passau and holds an LL.M. from the Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas). Her legal traineeship at the Celle Higher Regional Court included a placement at the German Embassy in Paris.

Lisa Gebhard, LL.M., joined GSK Stockmann following her admission to the bar in 2021. She specialises in real estate and investment law with a particular focus on real estate transactions, asset management, fund structures and ESG. Prior to joining GSK Stockmann, she worked as a research assistant at a major international law firm in Hamburg. Lisa studied law at the University of Greifswald and gained valuable experience during her legal traineeship working in the real estate practices of several commercially oriented law firms as well as at the German Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand.

Mareike Hebrock, LL.M., specialises in advising on sectoral planning law, public construction law, environmental and nature conservation law and energy law. She legal traineeship in Berlin/Brandenburg before being admitted to the bar in 2017. She also holds an LL.M. from the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Mareike joined GSK Stockmann in 2021, having previously worked in the in-house legal team at a transmission system operator and at a law firm specialising in onshore wind farms.

Andrea Kunstmann studied law at the University of Göttingen and completed her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main, which included a placement at a leading German construction law firm. She joined GSK Stockmann following her admission to the bar in 2018. She advises clients on private construction contract law and architectural and engineering law, including drafting contracts and addenda, supporting projects during construction, managing the execution of contractual relationships and handling litigation. Andrea is a member of the German Society for Construction Law.

Alisa Mößinger has been with GSK Stockmann since her admission to the bar in Germany in 2019. She specialises in commercial tenancy law across all asset classes and also has extensive experience in litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Her solution-oriented advice is underpinned by her additional certification as a business mediator (MuCDR). Alisa successfully completed her legal studies and traineeship in Munich.

Jasmin Lena Seiberlich specialises in real estate law, with particular expertise in real estate transactions (asset and share deals), commercial tenancy law, as well as land law and neighbouring rights issues in the context of development projects. She joined GSK Stockmann in 2018 following her admission to the bar in Germany. During her legal traineeship with the Munich Higher Regional Court, she gained valuable experience at an international commercial law firm. Jasmin studied law at LMU Munich and at the Universidade Nova in Lisbon, Portugal.
